Violence Persists in Our country

Morning, am still connected and it’s my pleasure to be online and narrate the history of my life. Since our country is sick, a good number of women are impregnated by ill intentioned men who don’t need to have children. This makes her believe that if she makes a complaint, she will get a solution which ends up being a total disappointment. This is why when this woman reaches this level, she provokes a miscarriage.

Thanks to you, we hope to have our right like the Congolese woman. As such we would have access to freedom of speech everywhere. My son I told you about is minimized by the irresponsible boss, what will become of his future?
We expose these problems because we know very well that you can change our country.

Thanks Mama Shujaa ("Hero Women")

without choices

Dear Mama Shujaa,

Thank you for sharing these truths about the Congo. It breaks my heart that women have to provoke their own miscarriages. I cannot imagine the physical, emotional and psychological trauma that women experience in secrecy. These experiences are incredibly traumatic even when a woman has resources and support. I hope that the World Pulse community provides freedom of speech and allows women to honestly and openly share their stories until change comes to the Congo.

Warmest regards,
Sarah

Freedom of Speech

Thank you for sharing you story. I am glad you have been able to get online and join other women speaking out on behalf of your rights. Stay strong, stay connected, and keep sharing. I feel inspired by the hope you have for you son, for the future, and for your county in spite of the struggles you face daily, struggles difficult for me to even imagine. It is a testament to the human spirit.
You recognize the power and importance for freedom of speech. I hope that World Pulse has helped you explore your own voice and share concerns in a safe way.

Thank you Mama Shujaa,

Hannah
