PEACE AND SECURITY

For more than a decade now, the eastern part of DRC has experienced unprecedented destabilization. The civilian population is at its wit’s end. With all these wars futilely imposed on DRC, we will not stop calling out that the Eastern populations have had enough. They want peace, and nothing but peace.

We think that the international community is aware of the painful events that have been occurring in the North Kivu province, where the civilian populations are being massively displaced, without aid. Some of them are victims of the massacres that followed the M23 rebellion supported by neighboring nations.

In addition to these rebellions, the same Eastern populations are victims of atrocities committed since 1997 on our soil by the FDLR and other negative forces that continue to pillage, rape, and massacre the peaceful Congolese people who have hosted them on their soil since 1994.

Given the deterioration of the situation, women and children continue to be made vulnerable by these atrocities. How? The majority of our population depends on agriculture for a living; however, today it is nearly impossible for women to go into the fields, to the river, into the forest to look for firewood, all this under the threat of being raped. On the one hand, the crops in the field are reaped by the attackers. As a result, we bear witness to the increase of children’s malnutrition cases and even those of pregnant or nursing women whose health remains fragile.

As for the M23 Rebellion, which conceals a Machiavellian plan for the Balkanization of the Eastern part of DRC, the Congolese civilians continue to unite themselves as a single unit to say NO to this terrible plan, because DRC belongs to the Congolese, including the natural resources from which the Congolese must benefit at all costs before anyone else does.

Several protests continue to be organized, right in front of the international community. The heroic Shujaa mothers say aloud “STOP” to this plan, which does not respect the sovereignty of a nation and its people. We’re sick of these wars so uselessly imposed on us. We have the Right to Life, in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Merci

Solidairement,
LightMyWay
