THE LISTENING CAMPAIGN

Dear Jensine,

Your invaluable work is a testament to the power of hope in a ravaged world.

I have been a Vision Mentor for the past two years and was very fortunate to see you with the three astonishing women who spoke in New York last year. This year, my Correspondent is a young Syrian-Kurdish woman, and I will be seeing her in NY and meeting her for the first time. Knowing her has opened my eyes, painfully but with utter necessity, to the horrors in one of the darkest corners in the world. This year I've been ordained as an Interfaith minister, and if not for World Pulse, I could not reach out globally.

As a gesture of Interfaith love and compassion, I am inviting people, world-wide, in join me in a day of Listening on August 24th.

The link to THE LISTENING CAMPAIGN is as follows, in case you have a moment to look at it. If we all listened to each other, perhaps needless violence would lessen.

With Respect,

Rev. Sarah Whitten-Grigsby http://www.facebook.com/TheListeningCampaign

Thank you

Sarah - Thank you for your service. The starting of the Listening Campaign is a great force for change. I will gladly promote it. At World Pulse we are thinking of how we can expand and encourage the process of connecting through active listening and appreciation. We have some ideas we are incubating for engaging our wider community and a listening campaign is a great idea. It sounds like you are a mentor to Hummingbird. Thank you. I know you have touched her life deeply, and have created a safe space for transformation to occur on all levels. I cannot wait for the two of you to meet.

In gratitude,

Jensine Larsen

I'm jumping in quite late -

I'm jumping in quite late - and it's not in response to Jensine - but I had to say something when I saw Tarija mentioned. I lived there for a summer doing public health work and have not met anyone from there since. Simply saying hello.

Hi Maya

I wish we had met! I am home now and Tarija is more beautiful than ever. We have lots of flowers and green trees all around. The rivers are full of water and there still is good weather to go swimming.

Hope you come back some time! And let me know when you do, so that we can have fun together ; ))

Love,

Jackie

Thanks, Jackie. Me too. I was

Thanks, Jackie. Me too. I was there with a program called Amigos de las Americas in 1998 (http://amigoslink.org/programs).

I'd be happy to come back: such great people. My piece for Voices of our Future, due tomorrow, actually has a snippet of a story from a village I was working in in Tarija. I haven't published it yet, but Ana is a little girl I'm writing about who finds her voice. What a pure and precious human being. That's your teaser. :)

~ Maya

jap21's picture

Hahaha

So you learned that a good teaser, of course has to come from Tarija! hahaha

Tarija has changed a lot since 1998. That is the year my daughter was born and you would not recognize the town now. It is a lot bigger, although it still is a small, very small city.

Come back soon!

Love,

Jackie
