The Packet of Cookies

There was a young woman waiting for her flight at a major airport ... Because she had to wait for several hours, she decided to buy a good book. She also bought a packet of cookies. She sat in a comfortable armchair in the VIP room of the airport to rest and read relaxed. Next to the chair where she left the packet of cookies, a man opened his magazine and started reading. When she took the first cookie, the man did the same. She felt irritated by this behavior, but she said nothing, thinking, "This is so rude, I want to give him a good beating!”Every time she took a cookie, the man took one too. She was really upset, but she didn´t want to make a scene. When there was only one cookie left, she thought, "And what he is going to do now this freeloader jerk?”The man took the last cookie, broke it in two and gave half to her. Ah, this was too much! She was beside herself! She took her book and her stuff, and went to the boarding desk. When she sat in the aircraft she opened her purse to take her reading glasses, and to her surprise, she discovered her packet of cookies, unopened! She felt so WRONG! She realized how wrong she was... She had forgotten that she put her packet of biscuits in her purse. The man had shared his cookies with her, without any resentment or apprehension while she was so shocked, thinking she was the one that had shared her biscuits with him. And now, she would not have the chance to explain to him or apologize ... Moral of the story. There are 4 things we cannot take back
1) The Stone ... after thrown
2) The word ... after said
3) The occasion ... after losing it
4) The time … when is gone

J´adore cette histoire

Bonjour Jean Bosco. Merci

Great Story

Jean Bosco, thank you for sharing this story. There is much wisdom in there for all of us about self-awareness, sharing and giving others the benefit of the doubt.

Your story about this woman, the man and the cookies should actually give many of us room for pause Jean Bosco. Often, we are not as gracious as we could be in certain circumstances and situations in our lives. It is very humbling to say the least. It was very moving and I felt compelled to share it with my family and friends on Facebook. Hopefully, they will be as moved as I was and in turn tell others to read your wonderful story. Thanks for reminding us all to be humble and giving us room for pause when we are too often ready and willing to strike at a moment's notice! I cannot agree with you more about the 4 things we cannot take back:

1) The Stone ... ....after thrown
2) The word ... .........after said
3) The occasion ... after losing it
4) The time … ......when is gone

Good job!!!

BMBracewell

Liked your story, I'm going to send it to my family and friends.
