Introducing myself and my journal: Let's Converse
About Me:
Even though I was born in the biggest city of Cameroon, I have spent my childhood as well as my early adolescence in what is known in most African Countries as "the village" . Mine was a rural community where most women where widows, but where children were raised by the whole village. When I finally moved to the capital city to attend to attend high school, I felt lost. That is also (un) fortunately where I learned to be me, an individual, a lesson that will later help me in the western world. The philosophy of my late grand-mother has helped me keep my head high, long for a better future without stepping on others' toes.
The world has enough resources for all of us, if we learn to share and to understand others' starting point, we will be able to live in a more peaceful world. There is no doubt that these changes require a drastic change in our behavior, in the way we educate our children, in the way we talk to each other. But those changes should be a common responsibility, each one of us has the ability to act positively; but if we do not make positive changes, then we are putting our won lives in danger; maybe not at the same time, but we all are going to experience the bitter side of life, because, in reality, we are all (inter) connected, we just do not want to see it that way and accept it.
As a specialist in conflict management, I urge all of us to become better world citizens. I will conclude with this statement:
"If I disagree, I will do it with a higher dose of respect; therefore. I take the vows of non-violence in thoughts, speech and actions."
