FROM PARENT TO CHILD

Dear WorldPulse friends. I have not posted my thought this year... Now I would like to share few lines of the poem. It was written by an anonymous author.

From Parent to Child
...
I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you.
I can teach you right and wrong, but I cannot always decide for you.
...

...
I can teach you to share, but I cannot make you unselfish
...

I can advise you about friends, but I cannot choose them for you.
...
I can tell you about drink, but I cannot say NO for you...

This poem conveys the importance of showing and setting an example kids to learn about being responsible, take decisions and live their lives with independence and with confidence.

This poem also takes the guilt out of parenting when some kids choose unwisely. Parents cannot take the burden of their children's actions. Parents can only do so much and the rest depends on the children themselves.

I hope you enjoy and reflect on these thought.

With love
Amei
