About Me:
I recently graduated from college and I work as an associate producer for a show targeted to Latin America; I have been working on topics like sexual abuse, domestic violence, infant sexual abuse, teen pregnancy and empowering women and I just love the power these women have to overcome challenges. I have come to admire each person I have interviewed and I have increased my desire to do more to help.
My Passions:
Television, volunteer opportunities with women in third world countries
My Challenges:
A lack of knowledge on some important social problems

Hello Laquilita,
When I was at the AWID conference last year, I met some people who worked on a television show in Latin America that raised issues of violence againist women (perhaps it was you?). It is such a great way to reach the mainstream - but unfortunately a show like that would never be aired on Australian TV. It is very conservative here.
I hope it is all going well.
