Introducing myself and my journal
About Me:
I'm a senior in High School, I've been involved in my community since I was very young. My grandfather worked as a migrant worker to bring his family to America. He gave them the opportunity to learn english, and create a life for themselves to ensure a better future. I live 45 minutes from school, my school is located in a small town with about 5,000 people. I am a contestant in the Miss Napa County Pageant, but I'm using it as a chance to be independent and to learn. I am hoping I can learn a way to help UNIFEM and other similar organizations, I've always been taught that women have the power to change the world. I only wish that women will stand up for their rights, and work together to make a difference and to inspire hope in future generations.
My Passions:
music, art, sports, languages, dancing, tutoring, everything.
My Challenges:
my challenges are my age, being young people think that there is no way that I could care about changing the world. They assume that being a teenager, I am supposed to be obsessed with dances, and guys. I 'm not and thats not a bad thing.
My Vision for the Future:
I would hope that there would be a utopian civilization, but if we can reduce health problems and crime then for me, that is almost just as good. If not at least a step in the right direction.
My Areas of Expertise:
language, writing, research
