I have posted a video on YouTube called: PYGMY PRAYER. The video can be viewed at: http://youtu.be/1fs7uUNCt1g.
The Pygmies are a people that suffer the worst forms of treatment, no matter where in the world they are found. They are an indigenous people, meaning they are the original, the beginning of our population, but their discrimination and marginalization is the greatest on the planet.
The Pygmies in Congo have always lived in the vast forested areas. But since the 70s, with the objective to increase the number of protected areas of the forest, the pygmy communities have been kicked out. But worse, they were not given any place to go; even DENIED a homeland. They live without any of the rights that a citizen should enjoy, let alone the nation’s original people. They are the least included, least educated, least cared for, most discriminated, humiliated, and abused, population group.
They have been considered sub-human by some and even hunted down and killed as game animals, and that in this century. Their situation is mind-blowing.
I went to a meeting a couple weeks ago and we were praying for our communities, our country, Africa, and the world, and there was one prayer that had a force behind it that encompassed all of our prayers. It was a simple prayer from a pygmy woman. It was so powerful. I felt it in my core, and it became my prayer, and I pray it becomes yours, for this woman, her community, and our world. You may hear her prayer at: http://youtu.be/1fs7uUNCt1g.
