Everything Starts When You Believe

About the Digital Story Telling:

During all this program, one of my goals has been be the voice and to speak for the women who can't do it. And I think I accomplished quite well, thank to the space World Pulse give me to do it and the support of my Menthor ,Midwife, colleagues and Team:

I was the bridge thought which you know the story of Gina
I was the messenger who told you what activists women from Buenos Aires were doing
I brought my point of view about Gender Identity and with this action, I visibilize a lot of women and men who are in the same search of us: Trying to find who they're and breaking the silence about
Finally, I let the woman of my country, show you their suffering, hopes and the way they are taking over the tragedy, to built a better and new society for everyone.

My circle was closed, or not? Through my writing, I was the inmigrant, the women facing hard decision, the human being hidden in a different identity... I was also my mom, my sister, my friends, living again from the ashes of desolation...I talked in behalf of all of them, but never in behalf of myself

This is the time do it.

I decided it was the time to speak for myself. And the story telling is the result of that.
Is my first time doing a digital story telling, using programs of making movie and edition.
I hope my work can be useful to create awarness about the issue is related
Thanks to all of you for this opportunity to speak
To my Menthor and Midwife for encouraging me
To the human being behind http://www.inocenciainterrumpida.net/index.htm

To God, for showing me there's no pain that fall in wasted land.

Now, the circle is closed.

EVERYTHING STARTS WHEN YOU BELIEVE

Nasreen, Your video is so

Nasreen,

Your video is so unique! I love the drawings. They show the innocence of the victims. But more important is the message that you are sending. Good job!!

Much Love,

Salam my dear thank you! I

Salam my dear thank you! I made the draws by myself you know why? because I think no children deserve to be related to abuse, Even random children pics you can find in the internet. No children deserve to represent with his/her face a terrible thing like sexual abuse is.. so, I decide the only child who can represent this is me, but since I am not a child anymore,I decide to draw trying to let the girl in me speaks.

A hug

Dear Vanessa

Well, the world has bad people who do terrible things. But that's not the story. The story is when the cycle is broken, by a word. And that's what you did - speaking out. This is not a sob story, but a story of a victory and you get no tears, but a big hug!

Yes, you're right, bad things

Yes, you're right, bad things and bad people are not news anymore since we have normalized violence in its different expresions as something that "happens". So, as you say, the new is in how the cycle of violence is broken, how people empower around their bad situation to built something possitive. Thank you stella!

Nasreen ukthi !
Salam
Thank you for sharing this with me. This is a wonderful video, delicately done! While watching the sketches I felt it was created by you (confirmed below!).

I have never been sexually abused as a child or now – and I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for a child’s psychological development to grow in a safe environment.

Supine attitudes towards abuses only perpetuate abuse, it’s sad to see abuses like these no longer create the required level of outrage to prevent and increase awareness.

This must have been perhaps the hardest assignment to produce for you and the outcome is commendable ;- )

JazakAllah Bi-khair Ante

JazakAllah Bi-khair Ante Habibaty!

Yes, it has been the hardest, the most difficult from the decision to make it until the edition and craft in windows movie maker...technically is not perfect, I know. There are some mistakes. But I am glad with the results especially on myself, in my soul. There is a poem from another survivor of abuse that says:

"We lived with the pain
Some days, some years
Taking the punishment
Controlled by fear

Now it is our turn
Take back control
Take back our dreams
Our thoughts and our souls"

That is what exactly this video did for me. Hugs my dear

Wow!

Nasreen, this is terrific. What a clever idea to use drawings. The childlike illustrations emphasize the innocence of children who face abuse. (The soundtrack is interesting. I wasn't sure why you chose a Christmas carol.)

Thank you. I made the drawings by myselfs. about the soundtrack, has a special relation with the story and I found it labeled as "little things that ruined the first christmas" and that means something to me.

You're an amazing Butterfly

I really loved the video. It was so beautifully made even if it shed lights on one of the most horrible crimes in our societies. BUT, since there are people like you who speak up and BELIEVE that they can change a lot of horrible situations that we are living in, we can be optimist :)

I am always proud of you. Keep going!

Shukran Bezzaf habibaty: I made it knowing I knew nothing about doing a video so all the products was a result of exploration :). But I did it honestly and I think is possible to see that in the story telling. Thank u for your support always. I hope we can meet soon insha'llah. Hugs

Enlightening!

This is such an inspiring video! The drawings are charming and keep me rooted in the experience of a child. The statistics you gave were very helpful, too. I did not realize that fewer than 0.5% of children make up stories about being sexually abused. That fact alone makes your impetus to BELIEVE even more powerful. Thank you for standing up for children! May they all have the opportunity to become as wonderful as you have!

Leslie Stoupas

Thank you very much Leslie. I am very glad you liked it and could see the shine behind the shadows.

Moving and powerful

I love this video and the courage it took you to tell this story. Your courage will help many parents and children tell their story and come out of the shadows -- and BELIEVE. I love the part in the film when your call out to believe in children. I got shivers with the truth of your words.

Congratulations, you are brave and true to yourself.
