About me :
Welcome to my world, I am a youthful vibrant lady from Kenya, the co-founder and country Administrator of the League of young professionals of Kenya an organisation that brings together over 1000 youth in all parts of Kenya for professional and leadership development, business development, community service, and social development. We are a growing force among the youth in professionals in careers and business in Kenya.
I am also a board of trustee member of Safaricom Foundation, one of the leading foundations in Kenya that has made enormous contributions in the areas of health, education, environmental sustainability, water, art and culture, sports and water. I am a Rotarian of good standing in the Rotary club of Nairobi North and have been appointed the new generation’s officer at the Rotary club on Nairobi North 2011/2012.
I have been involved in many youth development and empowerment initiatives including volunteering in the World of difference initiative, where I worked with a girl child empowerment organisation Moving the Goal posts in Kilifi;
I have been part of the inaugural Global Change Leaders Program. A CIDA sponsored program in collaboration with the international centre for women studies the COADY in ST Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia, Canada. The highly competitive program draws together a team of 16 women from the global south to participate in a 6 month program in Leadership development through a combination of lecture, real experience and interaction with leading women, professional placement, mentorship and social media awareness.
I am a seasoned telecomms engineer, a specialist in fiber optics technology, i was a champion commissioning engineer and the first network administrator in the first ever submarine cable project TEAMS. I am currently a senior engineer in safaricom limited and have been involved in the national rollout of fiber optics (NOFBI) among other projects
I am passionate about helping the youth succeed in their careers and business, and i love mentoring and inspiring girl to pursue technical/ engineering courses, and to grow their carriers in engineering and technology, a field mostly undertaken by men.
