I've visited Harare and Manicaland twice in the past four years, meeting with NGO's to interview and photograph NGO clients. From that first trip, I learned the key role that women are playing in helping others, often in the shadows of the economy - missing an opportunity to serve as role models for younger Zimbabweans.

I'll be returning to Zimbabwe August 7-30, 2012. My purpose will be to spend time with the most inspirational women I've already met, creating more images and now video, as well as learn more about them. I also want to meet with other women in the country who unselfishly serve as heroines - for the same purposes. My aims are not political. I desire to bring out of the shadows any incredibly inspirational women who labor uniquely on behalf of others and who could serve as role models for other Zimbabweans. My intent is by the end of this year to have select video and still images online for a Zimbabwean (and U.S.) audience, and then to show framed prints around Portland, Oregon to raise awareness of Zimbabwean women. As desired, please see the attachment if you'd like to know more about this project.

I would greatly appreciate your sharing any contacts you have who might serve as candidates OR people who might connect me with motivating women. A name, phone number and email for each would be incredibly helpful.

Secondly, I'm seeking to hire someone to serve as a guide/translator/driver for all or some of the trip. That person should have very strong Shona and English skills so that they can translate during interviews. They should be able to drive, and ideally have access to a 4wd car. Their personality should be outgoing and one that encourages trust and openness from the candidates. Because I will be interviewing women, I would prefer a woman to serve in this three function role, but I'm open to the right male. Pay will be negotiated for a daily rate that covers food and lodging, car rental, and services provided.

I would appreciate your sharing this email with any individuals who might be interested or know of someone interested. Candidates for the position can research me by searching for "Paul Sivley Photography" at linkedin and facebook.

Thank you so much for your support of this effort. I am extremely grateful for your continuing support of my passion for Zimbabwe.
