I see something strange amidst my people
It may be generational or just emanating
I see some people live in affluence and surplus
While their neighbours wallow in abject poverty

Daily I meet people wake up early in the morning
They are same people that sleep late working tirelessly
Seeking more information on moving ahead in life
Yet with little or nothing to show for their efforts

I read about few others too, so blessed and rich
With little or no time to work, study or even learn
These people can not even reason intelligently and act
Yet they have more than enough to waste on frivolity

I hear of those with uncountable money if possible
With no substantial knowledge, energy or explanation
Yet they could amass wealth for unborn children
While those sweating, working and alive are hungry

Come; see what I have seen peradventure you are free
Where majority live in penury in land of surplus and green
Children are counted in census there after they do not count
Women work, watch, wait and then wail because of wants
