Human rights help lift people out of poverty and injustice, allow them to assert their dignity and guarantee sustainable development so when we speak about Women’s Right are Human Rights, this is what we mean.
We believe that everyone should have the right to: A livelihood, better working conditions and better protection of the natural resources on which poor communities depend. Women are entitled to basic amenities, accessible good health services because healthy and educated woman is an essential step along the route out of poverty. Yet millions of women have no access to health services, schooling or safe water, land or loan facilities. They are constantly at risk from illnesses that are easily prevented or treated, or are unable to read and write, which means exclusion from their society. Women worldwide should campaign for more and better aid, with a focus on basic services. War and natural disasters cause untold suffering for millions of women around the world and keep them locked in poverty and further make their body an extension of the battle ground for the soldiers. In disasters, women are at a greater risk of violence, disease and abuse. They are the target!
Un-empowered women cannot make choices, they often have little influence over decisions that affect their lives and that of their children. They are not allowed to be heard and are marginalized – because they are women.
Enough is enough! Stop that discrimination and stigmatization today, Women are your fellow humans and not second class citizens , they have the right to speak for themselves enjoy equal access to jobs, essential services and influence decision in families , communities and the states .

Lovely and inspiring piece Sister Nmezi. Just as you rightly shared, women are trapped in a cycle of problems that arise from denying and or depriving women of their their rights. Women are the key agents to solve the problems of hunger, poverty, wide spread illiteracy, child and maternal mortality, environmental degradation and inequalities that have become the bane of most societies across the world. Women are at the center of it all, yet they are least represented when decisions are being about the very issues that touch on their lives. Every day, women are confronted by the stark realities of development responses that over look women's needs and knowledge, by pass women's contributions, favor and benefit men above women, give control to men, limit women to traditional roles, saddle women with unrecognized responsibilities, impoverish women the more, increase women's vulnerability, deprive women of their self worth, render women ineffective, ................................. The list is endless.
Denying women of their rights no doubt reinforces women's deprivation and marginalization.
Women's needs and roles in the society must be duly recognized! Your message is worth re-echoing! Women's Rights Are Not Negotiable.

I agree with you that "War and natural disasters cause untold suffering for millions of women around the world and keep them locked in poverty...." Enough is enough... Nigeria is far from Cambodia but i'm sure the women face the same thing. I like your title : Women's Right Are Not Negotiable.
