PulseWire Action Group Forms

In December, 2011 I responded to the request of a number of women who had taken my class "Women in the Global Community: A Spirituality of Empowerment". I had envisioned a group of women coming together with our laptops supporting each other as we joined PulseWire and took action together through projects described in the Action Center.

I posted an invitation for the "World Pulse Holiday Event" to my students and other women listservs in our area.
In early December a group of 11 women, with laptops in hand, gathered in a room at the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The energy was warm and joyful as women introduced themselves to one another and we shared a simple opening ritual with a chant song I wrote titled "Moving Between the Worlds". Women helped each other become members of PulseWire, write their first journal entries, and checked out the amazing projects in the Action Center. Toward the end of the two hour session we watched part of Jensine's 2009 presentation to the Bioneers Conference. Inspiring! Amazing!! Let's do this again! We closed our time together by reading together "The Soul of World Pulse" which each women received as a "gift" to take with her.

Next Wednesday, February 8 we will have our first 2012 PulseWire Action Group meeting. We plan to meet once a month for 2 hours. For this meeting half of the women were part of the December group and half will be new. Word is getting out about our group and I hope that we can grow this group and together expand and strengthen the PulseWire community. It is part of our vision to create local actions on behalf of women in our local community as well as our participation in PulseWire.

I would love to hear about any other women that are doing something like this or other projects involving PulseWire.

I am excited about starting the new year with this project as I continue to use World Pulse magazine in my class and
spread the word about our powerful Pulse Wire Community.

Pulsewire on the ground

Louise - Thank you so much for sharing and for bringing the spirit of PulseWire to a room for a real live meet up, brining the power of connection from online to on the ground and face to face. It is so great to see the Pulse extend beyond the digital and the online. What a gift to have you are part of our community.

PulseWire Action Group

We met again today. Small group: 4 who stayed for the 2 hrs. 2 others who came for short time due to other meetings. Highly motivated. All are now on PulseWire. One woman had been to Kenya a number of times and was part of a
group that sponsored an orphanage in a small town there. Currently it's directed by a man and she got thinking about how
great it would be if a young woman could join the leadership. Could become part of PulseWire's VOF program...If the
man would bring PulseWire to these kids some of whom are high school girls. When she got on PulseWire and checked for other women from Kenya the first one she read about was from a village close to where she had been. She wrote her
a message and asked to be "friended". This woman left feeling really excited about the new possibilities. We closed our
session today by listening to segments of Jensine's presentation to Bioneers in 2009. The PWAG women left very happy and excited about our session.

I think our group is going to grow as the word gets out.

Thanks for your affirming and supportive words.

Thanks so much for updating

Thanks so much for updating me to how the meeting went! How neat to have someone right off the bat find their Kenya connection. We have many strong, outspoken, dynamic ladies from Kenya, which is exciting for me too as I have a strong connection to Kenya as well.
Looking forward to hearing about how your meetings continue to go and grow!
All the best!
