Have you been affected by the synergy created by feminine wisdom and power?
Due to work obligations, internet connection problems and my net book being difficult, I have finally been able to post my Module 2 assignment! The unwavering support of my midwife and mentor, as well as the program coordinators of VOF has left me feeling very confident. Moreover, I’m fully satisfied with my front line article. To expose myself through my writing isn’t a simple task, but the VOF community has made this unforgettable journey absolutely liberating! I can feel the power of the feminine grip the earth in one great big hug through your writings, and it gives me so much inner peace!
You know the power of the feminine is working when sequences of events bring you closer to your goal and connects you to lovely people. I was recently one of the bride maids for one of my best friends who grew up in Holland. She had her wedding here in Eritrea. Right before she came, I had also started to prepare myself to travel to Holland to participate in the International Steering Group meeting (which I am a member of) for the United Network of Young Peacebuilders and a conference on peace education. Funny enough, a young woman who I had come to know via correspondence for a UNOY Peacebuilders gender research had also told me she was planning to visit Eritrea. A couple of days before she was due to return to Holland, this young peacebuilder/feminist called me. I had felt tired due to the events revolving around my friend’s wedding but I insisted that I would meet up with Jennifer that evening so that she could also meet my friend (the newlywed) as well as some other friends of mine, including Saba, the young peace activist I had featured in my first VOF assignment. After making a few phone calls, I was able to mobilize these awesome people to meet at a nice cocktail lounge.
I had never met Jennifer before, so I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to point her out as she’d enter the lounge. She confirmed to me that I couldn’t miss her as she would be wearing a pink scarf. Sure enough, I did recognize her as she walked in. I didn’t know much about Jennifer except that she was doing her thesis on conflict resolution, and that she was conducting a gender/networking research project for UNOY Peacebuilders. I had also guessed she was of Eritrean ancestry because her last name is a typical Eritrean one. I had no idea that she was really half Eritrean, half Indonesian and that she was visiting Eritrea for the first time. Conversing with her was absolutely intriguing and I even told her all about World Pulse, handing her my VOF correspondent business card.
I’m so grateful that I decided to call my friends to meet her. My newlywed friend was able to give her great advice on how she can learn more about Eritrea back in Holland by becoming active in the Eritrean community in The Hague. My friend Saba was also able to tell her all about the Peacebuilding Center for the Horn of Africa. And now, when I travel to The Hague at the end of the month, I will be able to call my new friend upon arrival!
Good karma is contagious, and the feminine wisdom is working wonders. This is just one example of positive synergy; I have at least 4 other similar situations that I’ve found myself in over the last few months.
Have any of you found yourself in a situation of awesome feminine wisdom or positive synergy? I would love to know!
