SUBSIDY PROTEST IN LAGOS
The Gani Fawehnmi Park in Ojota Area of Lagos was parked filled, as Lagosians dared the Federal Government order to protest against fuel subsidy removal. The protest portrayed the anger and displeasure the people of Nigeria have towards the recent increment in the price of fuel. What most of the masses said was that the present administration, should reduce it cost of governance as this would help in making more money available for infrastructure development.
Though some school of thought believe the subsidy could be a way forward for the nation's economy, but proper consultation should be done before the removal of the subsidy, another school of thought argued that the price of fuel is the only benefit the masses enjoy been an oil producing nation and the federal government should revert to the former price, either of the school of thought, Nigerians call on the government to face other issues that are further making the country deprived of peace and unity.
Among such issues are the recent upsurge in the Northern parts of the country, where religious attack has been on the increase with loss of lives and property, increased level of unchecked corruption among public office holders, abysmal decay in the state of education and infrastructure.
