My Post Interview- Reflective Questions

1. Were you nervous before your interview? If so, tell us how you overcame your fears. If not, tell us the source of your confidence?

Not at all. I felt nervous about to do the interview when my first failed but not talking with Gina. I approached to this assigment like two women sharing part of their lives. Having an equal sight and take this interview like a chance to "put things in common" in talking with her helped me to relax the situation and allow the conversation flow easily. The fact we both are inmigrant starting a new history in this country -even when I am not a refugee- both southamerican and both belonging to a minority (Gina as belonging to afro-latin community and me as muslim) were blessed coincidences that encourage her to talk.

2. What did you do really well during your interview?

I am warm and emphatic enough and that helped me to make Gina feel comfortable with me and open her heart with total confidence in such a difficult subject.

3. What do you want to work on improving for next time?

Maybe I should invest in a mini tape recorder. It was uncomfortable for me set apart my attention from her to write in my notebook.
