Reflection on My Interview

1.Were you nervous before your interview? If so, tell us how you overcame your fears. If not, tell us the source of your confidence.

To be honest, it was my first ever academic interview in my life time. I was nervous about the questions that I wanted my interviewee, Dr. Sima Samar, to communicate through her words. Even though, I have seen her when I was one of those little girls, but I never got the chance to have contact with her, when I am a literate woman. However, I found her a very passionate woman with honor and humbleness. I really found her a very friendly and a mother Afghan woman activist.

2.What did you do really well during your interview?

I think, my first email to her for requesting to be my interviewee was really convincing and with a good introductory of myself, my studies, and the WorldPulse. Also, my other researches about her activities beside the questions, which were related to Afghan women, flowed very good with our email-conversation. She answered me all the questions with the flow of her honest mind and heart.

3.What do you want to work on improving for next time?
Next time, I would love to have face to face interview from my interviewee; so, I can not only imagine what my interviewee is doing but to actually see her and find the magic, mercy, and miracle in her eyes, voice, and smile.

Great work!

Sounds like you did a great first interview.
Face to face interviews certainly give us the best opportunity to learn and grow, so I agree! Let's shoot for that next time.

Looking forward to reading the final piece!
