Syrian Cinderella

r_syria_homs_fighting_large570.jpg

I have to tell you the Syrian version of Cinderella story I heard today, it is ironically funny, and it is real.

Once upon a current time there were a group of peaceful protestors chanting for freedom in a Syrian city called Homs. While these protestors were in the middle of their protest, security forces loyal to the ruling thugs opened their fires on the protestors who were forced to run. In the amidst of chaos, a man lost a shoe, he left it and retreated to his house till the the shooting stopped. Two hours later, the man was about to go out when his friends asked him: "Why are you going in this hour, it is still dangerous". The man answered:"well, I lost a slipper out there, and this is the only shoes I have; besides, if security forces found the shoe they might wander around making every man try it till they find me and arrest me, so I must go out and bring it back".

He did, and lived today.

Hi Nisan, So sad what is

Hi Nisan,

So sad what is happening in Syria now. And it's also sad that a man has to risk his life by getting his shoe so that he won't be risking his life............does that make sense?!!

Be safe, Nisan!

Madness

There is a killing frenzy in Syria. From abroad, I think of my family and friends all the time. The number of deaths announced by UN and other organizations is way less than reality. I hope things will get better soon, I hope the criminals ruling Syria would be punished for their horrible acts.

Take care Noreen, and tell everyone.

A drop of rain can revive the earth, be the drop.
