Into the Future and Beyond...

Congratulations to all the women selected to be the "Voices of Our Future!
While it is a bittersweet moment for those of us not selected, I wish you all the very best on the journey ahead.
It's back to the drawing board to seek out other opportunities to start my journey as a journalist. The application process to be a Voices of Our Future trainee has been a very positive experience and I am extremely thankful to have taken part in the application process. Many thanks to Rachel and Scott and the World Pulse team for their excellent organization, support and encouragement.
I have learned so much about myself through writing the assignments; and through reading the posts of the wonderful women who went on this journey with me a whole new arena of female experience across the globe has opened itself up for me. It has been truly wonderful to “hear” the voices of women across the globe as they endeavour to make the world a better place.
Well done to the selected trainees (I do hope the two runners up are included in the training as well) and well done to all of us who took part. I extend special congratulations to Monica Clarke, Stella Paul and Madube. The three of you took extra time to read so many other people’s posts and were especially encouraging to me and so many others. You deserve it!
Wishing all 32 of you a wonderful, challenging and inspiring journey ahead.

I am happy and afraid
I am happy, to be given a chance to work more closely with WP and its extended community, to tell more, to share more.
But I am a little afraid that I will lose the wonderful, wonderful friends I got during past few weeks.You are one of them and I am afraid of losing you too.
I probably will write a separate post on this. But until then, please please stay here, in touch, talk on, share on.
Getting to know each other has been the biggest reward for me, the most enriching fact of VoF. I want that to continue. I want to move forward, but not without you.

Thanks Farida for your comments, indeed you are right that VOF was just the beginning of your journey into journalism. My advise, just keep up with the same spirit, write, share, engage your community with the objective of creating a positive change among the women. I can assure you, that is where you will derive contentment when you touch people's lives.
When we hear each others voices, we grow stronger and stronger day by day. So , lets keep sharing and suporting each other.

Congratulations to you Farida! You are a VOF. Your stories will be heard, and your message shared. There is also next time. Like most of us, you have learned enough about yourself to be a good "Listener of Our Future!". We are all in this together. So in harmony with Grace, congrats to you and the 2011 VOF team!
