My Dream World

My world dream world is far far away
But so so close…
I recently attended the Nigerian Feminist Forum and realized “we” are already doing so much but how then can we keep personal world from falling apart? How can we work together as females and sisters in solidarity speaking in one voice to cause the changes that we so desire to happen?

My vision for my world and community is BIG…
I have grown beyond seeing more and more work but now focusing on seeing feminists and women activist synergizing and working together more.

I played a role at this forum as a stepping ground to achievement this dream by taking a session on “Mentoring through the Mentee’s Eyes”. I believe as young feminist we can be sucessful on our own YES but we can succeed better with fulfillment if we are mentored using by our wonderful and experienced sisters.
I see a world of synergy amongst young feminist in Nigeria; where we can easily call on each other to rally around for an issue, support each other be it formally or informally drawing from our personal strengths as women, as mothers and as sisters.

I see young women willing to commit more time and skill to small organization to assist it grow not because they are paid highly but because of their passion for the work and most especially because they experience harmony and their offices remind them of a family gathering. Even when they are working so hard a smile on another sister’s face assures them that we are all in this together.

I intend to continue talking about mentoring using a blog I just created and becoming a link for eager and young feminist who not only see me as a role model but also want to see older role models and would love to connect to them.
I believe this programme will strengthen my vision as it is a programme that is directly inline with my dream to ensure that it comes to pass.
