Better city for working women

My challenges in achieving changes in the community are to meet my goals of helping and serving the community of women who really needs help. For instance one of my challenges is to solve the problem of working women in the city of Lima. It takes at least two hours to get to their jobs in the morning and after working women get home in two or three hours back at nights. And after they continue working at homes cooking and taking care of their children.

So it is important to have several means of public transport which provide them trying to solve this problem.
One of my solutions is to promote strongly supported by other means is that for example the city of Lima has more than 9 million people needs to have a complex network of cycle paths metropolitan Lima is actually implemented and work in an integrated manner with other public transport to solve mobility problems and transportation.

Pulse Wire is an interactive space where I can write and speak for women to the world and collaborate to solve global problems.

Thanks for your interest

Hi nargiz:
Thanks for your comments and your interest about these current issues in many cities. My interest started many years ago and I´ve did during my master study a case study of transport problems in Lima. That´s the reason I´ve liked this issue.
At that time I´ve thought the authorities in charge would solve the problem, but nowdays the problems are worst.
It´s necesarry to change the situation. World Pulse can help me to consider it like a big problem for working woman in urban and rural cities.

Regards,
Liliana

Hi Liliana, It is very hard

Hi Liliana,
It is very hard on women that they are expected to have full time 'professional' jobs as well as run the household and take care of children. So many burdens! It is true that more efficient transportation would save working people a lot of time in their commute. I think evening out gender roles and expectations is at the core problem of figuring out how to reduce the burden that women must deal with.

Thanks for your interest

Hi mvmagellan.
Thanks for your interest. Twenty years ago I thought the problem could be solve but now it´s worst. We don´t have too much expectations that this problem could be solve in the short term. We need not only engineering specialists, we need more help. Women can help to promote other ways of transport.

Regards,
Liliana
