HOPE AND LOVE

The Lord blessed me with an above average family; I would lie if I said I lacked something during my early years. For me the world was perfect and having a working mom made me think and believe nothing is impossible. I was nurtured and over protected so much that I couldn’t conceive that humanity could be awful at times.
Then came the University years and the great rendezvous with the real world, at that time I was going through much stress that came from within my family and was already shaky emotionally when I entered school. My whole world just changed, I realised that people could be mean just because they didn’t like your face.
I learnt PAIN, HELPLESSNES and HOPELESSNESS, three emotions that can take you straight to an early grave. Above all I learnt by seeing the courage of so many people who had much less than me but never complained, I learnt long suffering and hope but above all I understood that no matter how little you think you have its always worth sharing.
World Pulse for me is the best platform for sharing; sharing everything you have because it’s never too small. If you’re good at listening just listen to others it does so much good, that what brought me here sharing my solutions, my need, my doubts, my hopes and my love.

Re: Hope and Love

Thank you dear sister for sharing your story. I understand you perfectly, reading through your story, immediately reminded me of my school experience - you know how in a classroom, it is made up of mixed students; those that you know who their parents are in the society, sons/daugthers of billionaires and those whose parents are not known...etc. I know such feelings. basically, what I like very much in your essay is the fact that despite your blessed background, you feel compassion for everybody and most importantly for your sisters.

Let me share with you one of my experience , please dont laugh. It was a very humiliating experience for me at a very tender age. That was in primary school class 5. You know this issue of evening classes. so one day, after school, i was to wait to attent my evening class. fortunate/unfortunate for me, if i may say - one of my pupil's friend lived by school so she invited me and another girl friend of ours to her parent's home after school. while at her parent's home, the housemate came and serve her (my friend) food while we sat and watched her eat. I tell you even at that young age, i felt humiliated and shamed. It is an experience I will never forget and now that i am older, i still feel sad about it. so i understand you perfectly well -- my dear friend never felt it was impolite nor insulting. and i dont blame her but i think i blame myself for having accepted the invitation.

once more, Thank you for sharing your story.

Stay Blessed

Thanks

You are most welcome ZoneZiwoh, I am happy you could connect with my story, Your experience doesn't make me laugh and really you don't have to feel sad about that or regret to have accepted the invitation. I think that gave you the opportunity to see that real wealth is on the inside, some people may have the money and think its an extraordinary achievement and forget that its a basical achievement within everyone's reach; the truth is in my eyes GIVING is the most extraordinary achievement! Everyone can be rich but not everyone can Oprah or mother Theresa. Thanks again
Stay blessed too

True Laura

You are right there, wealth is from inside and not from outside. And definitely everybody cant rich. I tell you my sister, you know what it means to have a very shameful experience at a very young age. I feel so bad.
Thanks for the nice word dear sister. I wish you all best of luck

Stay Blessed

Listening

I love reading all the posts that the lovely women in this group are writing. Like you said the wealth of knowledge I am discovering through these stories is proof that everyone has something to share and no one can ever say they have nothing new to learn. In my culture they have a saying "Kudzidza hakuperi" literally translating to mean "?Education never comes to an end" . We are all students and teachers on this platform. Thanks for your story.

Life is a powerful teacher...

Dear Laura,

Life is a powerful teacher. There are life lessons we experience which touches us profoundly, like the one you shared - thank you! You have a compassionate soul and empathy for others because you experienced Hopelessness, Helplessness and Pain. Your openness, honesty and empathy will help others share their stories and begin the healing. Keep up the good work!
