the story of my life

My life journey was not meant to be writing journals until i got a message from my community group about Voices of Our Future. When i went through the material for the training then i thought may be i should start writing, in the end will be selected for the program or will be able to write about issues means win-win situation so i took the challenge. I have been doing activities at various levels but never did something related to share through writing and it was because I never used to write stuff. I always avoided writing until it’s highly needed. This practice left me with no confidence in writing field. Then I started to write material for myself, friends and professionals regarding admission essays, creative writings etc. they appreciated me back and suggested me to start writing and as I saw this platform I grabbed this opportunity to share, Learn & influence lives, particularly to have a sole group of women struggling to bring a change through writing their own stories and ready to be the strength for each other in the battle field of social change. This is the platform which inspired me of the feminism and I started to pay attention to the issues related to women and being a female of such a society and country which has an unstable government, weak security system, potential target of super powers etc. where women are affected by these conflicts directly and indirectly but no one is taking notice of that at higher level of authorities. And if there are women at higher authorities than they are not competent enough or are not taking initiatives regarding women empowerment in Pakistan which is all done by NGOs or International Organizations. So we need to empower women to a certain level so that they should be capable and strong enough to bring a change rather than ending up in controversies.

You write well

Dear Maria

I don't know why you hesitated to write, because you have a simple, yet very honest way of expression which can earn you many readers.

I also loved the way you pointed out a very important issue: power to women who are incompetent. Even in India people were celebrating to see Pakistan appointing a woman as its foreign minister. The question however is, will that remain a token gesture? There are thousands and thousands of able women leaders in Pakistan. Will they ever be given a chance? And will the likes of Hina Rabbani ever take an active step to empower other women?

Unfortunately you and I are separated by petty politics of hatred. But I am happy to have this forum where we can connect freely

Best wishes!

begining of new era :-)

Thank you so much for going through my stuff and the wonderful comments :-) i never ever thought about you and we guys are separated as we have so many common values and share a history together so our approach towards the situation matters and i appreciate the growth of India and if we talk about women particularly than we still have the common issues which can be highlighted here and we can see what we can do together working in our communities.
And i hesitated to write because it’s a way of expression and i am kind of reserve person so avoided to disclose my expressions. First it was because of my personal feelings, which then affected my whole writing concept :-)

Dear Maria,

I am so happy to see someone on this platform of PulseWire from Gilgit, Pakistan! I hope you will keep on writing and bringing us stories and issues of women that are pertaining to your beautiful region. It is a beautiful place but it is a pity that we do not hear much about stories from there.

Looking forward to reading more of your writing!

thank you

Dear Iffat,
thank you for the appreciation & enthusiasim to hear more about gilgit. actually most of the times the beauty of my area dominated than the other issues so most of the people think about it's beauty and visiting it not to go enjoy beauty & see what are the issues or conflicts there and how they can contribute to solve them. and now it got provincial status Gilgit-Baltistan so now you get to know about some news.

Be confident!

You are a great writer, Maria and your story is touching lives. People do not need to read just words, they want to hear YOU and to know YOU and they will respond to YOU. As long as you keep being aware of what is happening around you and passionate to tell the story with honesty and simplicity, you will grow from strength to strength.

Thank you for sharing and keep writing!
