Writing my first assignment feels like a déjavu. It was a year ago when I first joined World Pulse and applied for the 2010 Voices of Our Future. Though I have not been chosen among the 30 applicants to take part on the training, I still feel blessed and honored to be a part of this community. I know there are still more to learn.
Honestly, when I learned about the opening of 2011 Voices of Our Future, I felt so excited to be a part of it once again – an applicant who is willing to learn, discover and improve. Web 2.0 motivates me to continue on my blogging and utilize social networking to interact with people all over the world on matters of intelligent discourse.
Through this medium I am able to tell stories of my country, the everyday crises, the struggles of the people living in our society, the fight against corruption, clamors of my Muslim brothers and Sisters for self-governance, the most debated reproductive health bill in the Senate, and many others.
I believe that the people I am going to interact with in this site will give me broader perspectives on the possible solutions I can contribute to my country. By sharing my stories and making a difference would make me an empowered woman.

Dear Baby, i like it that you
Dear Baby, i like it that you are very positive. Regardless of the fact that you were not selected among the 30 participants to take part in the training..you have not lost any of your guts and its really great because a positive attitude helps to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life.
Web 2.0 technologies are worth writing home about and its great that you really have a keen interest in them. Unlike the traditional media, new media have played a big role in democratizing the media because they enable conversation, community sharing and connecting, enhance creativity and also increase transparency in government and non governmnet organisations. They also embrace one's passion and identity.
I therefore encourage you to continue utilizing them, and like you said, who knows...you may end up changing many people's lives because stories do have that much impact.
Wishing you all the best!
Kind regards
Sandra

Thank You This Big
Hi Sandra. Thank you for taking time to read my story and to write. I believe that joining this group is not only for the sake of winning or being chosen among the 30 participants. Simply being part of this media is already a great accomplishment for me. Imagine I am just among the privilege few who has easy access to internet and interact with people from all over the globe. In my country, not everyone has the opportunity to access the internet. There are still a lot of remote areas that are not accessible to electricity and what more with internet. I know that in those areas, many people have not yet seen a computer neither know what a computer is. It is our role to inform them of the current situation or social issues, and it is also our duty to voice out their sentiments.
God Bless
