Web 2.0 creates a participatory base or forum where I can share information, design, collaborate and get feed backs. Here I have a bigger and louder voice !
There are various solutions that it brings to the women empowerment:-Women can now air out the various issues from their communities without fear of being victimized or seen as traitors hence a problem shared is a problem half solved. Solutions to individual problems can also be got easily through consulting with the rest of women kind across the globe. Information is also readily available for those women who want to do research on different topics or present lectures citing different true scenarios that have been posted on the forums. Issues are also highlighted and where an organization or an individual wants help to change the problem then there are calls for grants available on the new media sites.
With these tools ;- I am able to read stories from different parts of the world and try to relate them with those happening around me and forge a way forward.
b) These tools make me have the power to change what I can by seeking the help of the whole world and bringing their attention to my community by writing, blogging, tweeting and posting updates on the social sites.
c) I can now make videos and share them with the world from the comfort of my small community
d) I can participate in global issues and conversations and make an impact on somebody’s or people’s lives.

Hi polite switness, Very

Hi polite switness,

Very well done on an excellent piece! I was particularly impressed to read how Web 2.0 will improve the global women's empowerment program, and your goals for the future! I hope to see you writing/blogging/making videos soon.

Bigger and louder

Polite switness,

Technology will allow women in the world to express themselves "without fear of being victimized or seen as traitors" This is the sad reality. By not respecting the social norms and for most women it means to stay quiet about unacceptable traditional customs one becomes a traitor. Unfortunately, unless we fight for our freedom of speech nothing will ever happen.
Critical thinking is a very difficult process that most people don't consider necessary to try.

I am happy to read that Technology gives you the opportunity to be connected with the rest of the world. It is a terrific opportunity to start thinking about what you may want to do and share it with our community.

Bigger and Louder!! YES!

Greetings, Polite.
I enjoyed your writing and I especially enjoyed your expressed desire to have a BIGGER AND LOUDER VOICE!"
I can see that you understand you are not alone and that you understand that you are able to access Web 2.0 and other global outlets of self expression. That must be so empowering!

Regarding this assignment, I found myself wishing that you had found a way to include some more personal dreams and visions such as those you shared in your other profile entries. It was so powerful to read about you and your family's struggles and how courageous you have been. In this assignment, you had space for about 250 more 'words' where you could have included powerful and personal content, even though you were writing about Web 2.0.

So keep that in mind as you approach next week's writing assigment. We want to hear YOU! We want to hear your heart, your longing for change and how that inspires you. We long to hear more of your Bigger and Louder voice!
Blessings to you!
