Introducing myself and my journal: Grrrl Wave for Utopia

About Me:
A student at the University of Michigan studying English and Women's Studies, Rachel is a deeply committed feminist writer. Some milestones in her life include: birth, performing the Spice Girls in an elementary school talent show, forgetting how to spell her middle name, not conforming to vegetarianism, finally conforming to vegetarianism, breathing the same air as Sir Ian McKellen, discovering the joys of wool socks, and falling in love with Emily Dickinson.

My Passions:
reproductive justice, women's equality, literature, educational opportunities, and community

My Challenges:
Homesickness, uncertainty, frustration, turning theory into practice

My Vision for the Future:
A true utopia of gender equality and understanding

My Areas of Expertise:
women's health, U.S reproductive politics, feminist theory, and dystopian literature for young adults

Hello Rachel,

So glad to have you join us on WorldPulse!

I also studied Women Studies at University of Washington, and I definitely performed the Spice Girls - maybe not in a talent show, but at home with my friends!

I look forward to hearing your voice in the community!

In friendship,
