Introducing myself and my journal: The Power Of A Voice

About Me:
Hello! My name is Ashly Bloxon and I am the Founding Editor and current Editor- In- Chief at the online news agency voiceforhumanrights.org. I am a very driven individual who believes in getting things done. I do not contemplate on helping others, I simply do it. I sincerely believe in the power of the individual and difference that each and everyone of us can make, we can all make a difference in lives of others and I will never stop in my efforts to do so.

There are far too many people suffering in this world, after seeing so many injustices and abuses that thousands of individuals face every day, I found I could not just sit back and do nothing while people around the world suffered all types of abuses. So this is when i started to get involved with advocacy and volunteer work. My family had always instilled in me the importance of helping others, having compassion for others, and i carry that lesson with me to this day. Growing up my family did not have very much, I was taught to value the small things in life, the things that you cannot touch or see in a market or store, things like values, knowledge, culture, and kindness. I truly believe that these values and the hard times I faced help shape my undying drive to help others. I have come to realize that people will continue to suffer, that is unless we do something to change that. So I created the transnational human rights organization and news site voiceforhumanrights.org, to provide a voice for these people who do not have one, so that their stories could be shared with the masses, so that we could do something to change these peoples' lives.

Since that time, I have worked with many non-profit organizations in order to spread awareness on these issues. I also regularly collaborate with local groups who advocate different issues and assist them in organizing and publicizing events. It is important for the public to know these things and to get involved, and I hope to inspire people to get involved, and to believe in the power of the individual and the incredible difference that we can make in this world.

My Passions:
inspiring others to be a positive change in this world, helping people in need everywhere around the world, spreading a message of compassion and peace,

My Challenges:
having the courage to stand up for these things despite the risks and challenges that may get in the way

My Vision for the Future:
One day we will all be free living together under the same sun, celebrating the amazing diversity of the world

My Areas of Expertise:
human rights (women, children, men, i.e. everyone), development, conflict resolution, leadership
