Introducing myself and my journal
About Me:
I am a queer feminist legal activist in Baltimore, MD. I have two blogs, Radically Queer and Sex Positive Activism. I also write a monthly column for Gender Across Borders and run the feminist academic group blog Girl w/ Pen. My work has been featured on Ms. Magazine online, Feministing, and Feministe. I hold a JD from the University of Iowa, where I studied international human rights law. I am published in the Journal of Gender, Race, and Justice and looking to expand my non-academic writing and evolve into a widely-read citizen journalist. My interests include queer rights (particularly outside the mainstream American LGBT movement), gender and sexuality, fighting rape culture, and sex education.
My Passions:
queer issues, feminism, sexuality, intersectionality, radical activism
My Challenges:
working within a patriarchal society whose social and political structure is antithetical to my goals
My Vision for the Future:
I hope that one day the world will be dominated by communities and a diversity of opinions, rather than by oppression, imperialism, capitalism, patriarchy, and greed.
My Areas of Expertise:
international human rights, gender, sexuality, law, queer issues, feminism
