Introducing myself and my journal
About Me:
Hi! I am Sarah from Sacramento, California. I graduated from UC Irvine in Political Science and Conflict Resolution. I am currently in Sweden as I just completed a graduate program in Global Studies. I got the amazing opportunity to learn with students from all over the world. An experience that was probably more fulfilling and beneficial than the degree itself. People inspire me. Their stories of childhood, of fears, of dreams let me know that we are all connected and really, not all that different.
My Passions:
peace, learning, discovering, living

Hi Sarah!
Hello!
I'm majoring in Anthropology, but Conflict Resolution has long been an interest of mine. I'm beginning to look at graduate programs, but am not certain of which direction I'd most like to take. Could you please share more about Conflict Resolution studies? Also, if you can think off-hand of any excellent books on the subject, that would be extremely helpful.
Hello!
Hi Caitlin!
I would encourage you to look into graduate programs for Conflict Resolution. I wish I had studied Conflict Resolution at the graduate level. My program was an interdisciplinary program which focused on processes of globalization and mostly International relations. There is a school in Sweden, Uppsala University, which has a good peace program. Here is a list of graduate programs all over the world in Peace and Conflict:

A few books that I really enjoyed (more about peaceful transformations in your own life) is The Courage for Peace: Daring to Create Harmony in Ourselves and the World by Louise Diamond. Another book I like is The Moral Imagination: The Art and Soul of Building Peace by John Lederach. Those are two of the ones I really like, if I remember any more, I'll let you know! Wish I could be of more help, but hope this helps a bit.
Kind regards,
Sarah
Thank you!
Hi Sarah!
Thank you very much for the link and book suggestions! The suggestions all look very helpful in determining whether or not I'd be interested in studying this further!
Thank you again!
