Today 17 years on I remember my country,
My beloved Rwanda!
I watched you crumble into pieces;
Your blood stained my pretty dress,
Your cries pierced my ear drums,
Your tears soiled my sheets.
Oh Rwanda your beauty stopped to shine,
But today we don't look back and cry,
We look back and say Never Again.
That Sun has set,
A New Dawn has Come.
God Bless The Land of a Thousand Hills!!

This is lovely!
There are all sorts of people living within you - storyteller, comedienne, and now poetess! This is lovely! Thank you for reminding us of this important date. God be with Rwanda.
from today i live out of my imagination
i am more than my yesterday
tomorrow i plant a new seed
nothing that lies behind easy
nothing that is ahead real
my within is all i have today

I love my country
I am a great believer in the saying that goes, 'you don't know what you have until it's gone' .... and the longer I stay away from my country, the deeper the love runs through my veins, and I wait in earnest for the day when I will have enough funds to buy that ticket and fly home! I just cannot imagine the emotions that will run through me at that point when my foot touches the Rwandan soil that raised me!

I do not aim for Perfection; Just excellence!

Well the ticket is among many other things ... but for now I will wait until I can go with my siblings as well.
