People in Afghanistan

I would like to write a highlight about my colleagues (most of them are women) and our activities in Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL), because I am priding that I am the academic advisor in AIL.
We are providing Leadership workshops for women and me, the main objective of doing this workshop is to increase the women role in leadership to participate actively in social bases and help them in decision making, and promote impartial behavior between men and women in the society.
Once we had a workshop in Shakardara (rural area in Kabul city), most of the participants were men and they all were kind, sympathize and loving human being, among them there were men who did not behold to us, because they thought that it is blame, but in the end of workshop they changed completely and they were sharing their ideas with us and behaved like sisters and brothers.
During discussion they were saying some interesting stories, some irritant facts regarding women in the society, either they did not want to say and these are unbelievable, they mention some stories that the Islamic rules and laws and human rights policy are not accommodating. For instance they told regarding the stone of women to death, these actions are unknown in their communities and the swelled head men are doing to make happy their foreigner friends.
They said:” we are feeling happy if our children especially girls go to school with comfort and women could get education, join employment, and participate in decision making to work for living better life then ever, and participated in the developing the country.”
They were very satisfy from the workshop and expressed they will try to implement the knowledge they got from the workshop in their daily life.
In the end of workshop they were very upset, because the 10 day workshop finished, they said trustfully:” we will expand these knowledge to others to find solution for our problems and we are happy that we have such women as you who are working for women rights and serving their peoples. We trust that economy is the root of a country; by creating different projects that women are busy in these projects we can reach to our visions of a developed Afghanistan and if the parents are busy in earning the family living, the children will be save and no need for the children to work hard to earn their family living.”
