Celebrating World Red Cross Day on 6 May, 2011 in Washington, DC

I wanted to quickly write today to urge everyone who has a possibility of being in Washington, DC on May 6th to attend the celebration for World Red Cross Day.

The Red Cross provides opportunities to develop leadership skills, which you are able to apply to other areas life.

Meet new friends and learn about volunteering with the Red Cross.

Linda Mathes, the CEO of the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region will open the festivities introducing everyone to different programs of the Red Cross. The Red Cross’ mission is to provide people in need with the items and tools required to survive and prevent emergencies and disasters. It does this around the world.

This year our theme is the MEASLES INITIATIVE, so of course, we will learn about the Measles Initiative and the incredible progress it has achieved over the last 10 years. Learn more about volunteering opportunities with the
American Red Cross in the National Capital Region, and our efforts to assist the Measles Initiative.
