Just introducing myself. I work on the internet fundraising team at Mercy Corps. I also run a bread making community, The Fresh Loaf.
Welcome to Pulsewire! I looked at The Fresh Loaf's website and, oh my! The pictures are so beautiful and all of the bread looks absolutely delicious...and healthy! Regretfully, I have never made bread before. I will have to dig into some of the lessons.
It's great to hear you are involved with fundraising. Have you seen the group "Investing in People and Their Ideas" (http://beta.pulsewire.net/groups/566)?
Good to meet you!
I hadn't read that group. I've joined now. Thanks!
Greetings! Does Mercy Corps use an international video conference service for any kind of global training? I found this site - http://www.intercall.com/solutions/industries/learning.php - but would love to hear what other organizations are using.
In spirited partnership,
No, I don't believe we have an agency-wide video conferencing system or vendor. We use ReadyTalk for most of our conference calls, including those that need to include screen or slide sharing. Skype is also extremely popular here for both audio and video conferencing. But neither of those are adequate for multi-point video conferencing. It looks like ReadyTalk does offer more advanced solutions similar to what Intercall appears to offer, but I haven't seen them used here.
I hope that is helpful.
We use Skype all the time. As a matter of fact, I am in middle of skype chat with Leah from Kenya. (how funny, i just posted this to another member this morning)
Thanks for the link. We'll check it out!
Thanks for all that you do there at the Mercy Corps Foundation,l hope we can also use this time as a Christian Based Charity here in Uganda to Request you to support us by Creating a good Website for our Charity since your an IT over there.at the moment we a using www.c-youthoutreach.cfsites.org but we may need www.cyouthoutreachuganda.org / com Please l am looking forward to hear from you on my personal email below,
