The Pot.
On a fateful weekday(cant really remember which day of the week it was), the kids had gone to school and i set off to work like any other normal day.
On my return from work i realized God had intervened in what could have been a disaster- indeed a miracle it was.
How was it averted? The housekeeper comes in to work from 12noon, but on that particular day, she didn't know what prompted her to come to work earlier(9am).
As she opened the door, smoked filled the whole apartment, she dashed into the kitchen, and there was an empty pot, on my gas cooker- the water all dried up, the pot was severely burnt black, but it didn't go beyond that. Thank God, because i live in a rented apartment, if it were my own abode i would bear the loss alone.
I leave home as early as 06:30am. so you can imagine between then and 09:00am what could have happened to a boiling pot of water. I was so overwhelmed by the time i realized what miracle took place, that alone gives me confidence to say , "His eye is on the sparrow, and i know He (surely) watches over me."

affirmation
You hear stories like this now and then, and indeed they serve as affirmation that quiet miracles happen all the time and we have only to be astounded and appreciative. The message always serves to remind me that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, something I never really understood mathematically, but I certainly do understand in many other ways. Thanks for this.

The Pot
Experiences like this are amazing because they force us to recall how quickly and simply things can quickly spiral towards disaster, or, by the simple act of a housekeeper coming in early and opening the door, crisis can be averted.
Thank you for sharing!

Hello,
I too recently had a similar miracle. My apartment is very dry, and sometimes I boil water to humidify the air. I fell asleep with the pot on! Thank you for sharing a story that reminded me to be thankful for the everyday miracles in my own life.
