Who is your role model?
Lately I have been going through a bit of a career crisis, actually crisis is much to strong a word, but I have been struggling to find my professional path. I think a part of my struggle with my career rests in the fact that I have not had a role model in this area . Having someone to look to makes things so much easier.
When I read personal stories here on PulseWire - stories of women starting businesses or non-profits, women speaking out on issues, women making films or writing about their experience - I often wonder how the women learned to do such amazing work.
We are a very strong community and that strength and courage comes from somewhere. Someone somewhere along our path has helped us, inspired us or allowed us to see our own strength.
Who has been your role model? Has someone mentored you? Is there someone who inspires you?

My role models
My mom. (http://beta.pulsewire.net/node/1871)
My sisters, who inspire for ver different reasons.
Jensine Larsen, of course. She is uncompromising in her belief in the power of women's voices.
Enkhtuya (Ellie), my closest friend during my time in Peace Corps Mongolia. Ellie is fearless in the pursuit of all her dreams.
My highschool friend, Emily. She encouraged me to follow my dreams and leave the country.
Leah, our dear friend in Kenya, who shows courage and determination each and every day.
This list is just a start!
I Wonder, Can They Be Too Big?
Hello Sally,
I have three role models. Mohandas K. Gandhi, Tich Nhat Hahn, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I sometimes wonder why they are male, but it is they who caught my heart's attention. Gandhi for his "passive resistance." Tich Nhat Hahn for his commitment to The One. King for his deep understanding of Agape.
Like you, I am striving to create (or allow to manifest) what I am referring to as "meaningful prosperity." Since my three role models were not prosperous, it seems that they will not be the ones to guide me there.
In Friendship, Dave...
