Favorite Authors - Favorite Books

As autumn approaches and the weather here in the northwest of the U.S. begins to cool, I start to look forward to spending my evenings at home reading. Reading is a very peaceful activity for me, yet it also educates me, excites me and opens me up to new worlds.
As this 'reading season' approaches I would love to hear about your favorite books and authors. A few of my favorite authors and favorite books are:
Margaret Atwood - Oryx and Crake
Barbara Kingsolver - The Poisonwood Bible
Jonathan Safran Foer - Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

I love Chuck Palahniuk too! And David Sedaris makes me laugh out loud, because of that I cannot read his books on the bus anymore.
