Books about writing

Dear members/friends/readers,

I was recently looking for some inspiring books about writing, since I needed some inspiration and tips that would encourage me to write or let's say start writing. Besides various magazines, blogs and journals (broader and specialized), I needed something more and I have to say I was surprised to find there's such a wide specter of this kind of literature. Some may be more technical, other are philosophical, some speak about the state of creation, about the art of writing, other just try to push you more or advise you on taking steps or just let you know a personal story of success.

As I have noticed before here, many of you are writers or are involved in writing as part of what you do, so I wanted to share a list of interesting books with you. Here it goes:

1. The Writing Life - Annie Dillord
2. The Gift - Lewis Hyde
3. One Writer's Beginnings - Endora Welty
4. The Art of Hunger - Paul Auster
5. Bird by Bird - Anne Lamott
6. On Writing - Stephen King
7. Words I Wish I Wrote - Robert Fulghum
8. A Word or Two Before You Go - Jacques Barzun
9. Becoming a Writer - Dorothea Brande
10. On Writing Well - Zissner
11. The Courage to Write - Ralph Keyes
12. Making a Literary Life - Carolyn See
13. Write Away: One Novelist's Approach to Fiction and the Writing Life - Elizabeth George
14. The Sound of the Page - Ben Yagoda
15. The Writing Life: Writers on How They Think and Work - Marie Arana
16. The First Five Pages - Noah Lukeman
17. Wild Mind - Natalie Goldberg
18. Wannabe a Writer - Jane Wenham - Jones
19. If You Want to Write - Brenda Veland
20. The Writer's Art - James J. Kilpatrick
21. Reading like a Writer - Francine Prose
22. Pen on Fire - Barbara Demarco Barrett
23. Writing Down the Bones - Natalie Goldberg
24. Unstuck - Jane Anna Staw
25. A Guide to Creating - Jilian Sulivan
26. Writers on Writing - Collected essays from the New York Times
27. From Where You Dream - Robert Olen Butler
28. Mystery and Manners - Flannery O'Connor
29. The Paris Review Interviews Vol. 1
30. Writing the Breakout Novel - Donald Maass
31. "Chapter after chapter" "Page after page" - Heather Sellers
32. The Opposite of Fate: Memoir of a Writer's Life - Amy Tan

Should be good to add that these books were recommended by writers as something they found to be inspired by or just enjoyed reading, because let's be realistic all writers get into a blocked state and need some encouragement.
Having said this, I hope some will find some of these books useful or interesting and I would love to hear some reviews in case of any of you get to read some.
