Blessings for Your Everyday Life

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone. Another day, another passing of yet another holiday...or is it?
How can we carry this wonderful holiday into everyday life? Why not make giving thanks a daily event?! Yesterday morning, I awoke to such a great feeling in my heart and soul. I shared this inner light with all of my friends and I found the best gift of all was how I felt expressing my appreciation as well as the many messages I received (via text, of course) from the people I care about most, expressing their thanks for all the good in their lives and knowing that I was a part of that list. It was so heart-warming and I couldn't help but be a little emotional...I'm a woman, darn it!
But that was only the beginning! Throughout the day, expressing even the smallest gestures of gratitude towards those around me made the biggest impact, proving that simplicity is just as beautiful as the grand. While we humans are self-sabotaging creatures and are possibly our own worst enemies, we have such a capacity for warmth and love! It's a complete 180 and I'm in awe when I witness such generosity between two humans. In a culture where "I" is deemed more important than "We", taking time to express your thanks for those in your life is simply beautiful.
So I challenge everyone to take time out of their day, everyday, to stop and pay thanks to all the wonderful people and things that have been blessed to them. It's so easy to get down on yourself and others, to reflect on the negative. But why not be a rebel and start being an optimist?! Be thankful for all you have been blessed with and express it!
