funding for women's activities

A few months ago I found a website that offered a spelling game and you earned rice for correct answers. The organization gave rice to some agency for distribution as mostly needing it. The organization handling the rice used this to satisfy their share holders wish for a social use of some of their profits. I've had this in the back of my mind. Why can't an interesting game be designed for web users, connect with a large corporation that buys and handles rice and ask them to send it to wherever we decide? Somehow, there must be a way to earn dollars instead of rice. Does anybody have any ideas?

Free rice

I confirmed with Snopes.com, that free rice.com is a legitimate concern. The website gives the corporate information, how it works, etc. Somebody want to check it out?

Freerice.com

Freerice.com, which has been around since 2007, works with the World Food Programme (WFP) and is sponsored by private groups that pay for rice distribution. Today, according to the Web site, this game has generated 84 billion grains of rice!

This donor matching model has been applied by other organizations, both private and nonprofit. Most recently, for example, I worked with the Diabetes Hands Foundation's annual Big Blue Test (BBT) campaign. In one activity, Internet users are encouraged to view a Youtube video on the BBT program. Each view is equivalent to a week's worth of insulin, to benefit diabetic children in developing countries. The initiative was sponsored by Roche.

funding

I know people will give if these two words are included in the funding goal: children; education. Our United Methodist church family continues to give monthly to educate children in Liberia. I think it will be easier to raise funds if they have a specific destination that can be told to possible donors. Even in a down economic time, many people continue to give. I love the UNICEF trick-or-treat concept. I don't know what is safe for children to do presently.
