Women and children in Kenya are being sexually abused, and this is taken as if it is normal.
Even after getting a new constitution that is very clear on sexual violence, women and the girl children are still suffering.
Most rape and defilement cases are not reported because of fear, tradition, religion and most women at grassroots level have no information of what to do. The police stations lack gender desks hence not friendly to women and children. The court process when seeking legal redress is so slow, expensive and corrupt leaving women and children unattended and unable to afford such services. The hospitals are expensive, with most of the time lacking medicine.
Most cases are incest, sodomy and gang rape. For the girl child, the dignity and safety is in danger, the girl child is not safe on the way from school, at the market and even in the community at large. As young as 3 years aged girl cases are reported.
This has led me to blow the whistle, raise voices of women and children in my community and the entire world.

My prayer is that God opens the inner eyes of the Kenyna leaders to know adn accept that the constitution of a nation is not just a paper.
We will continue to work till every child and mother is safe in their own community or anywhere they are, live or visit.
Thanks and keep on keeping on.

Alutosin, my dear sister,

Alutosin, my dear sister,
thank u for sharing with me.
The constitution is very clear but the imlementing is the issue.
Remember the kenyan leaders are men at the top there, the church again is also male dominated. It is untill women in kenya take leadership positions that women and children will be safe and our constitution will be imlemented.
Thank u.
God bless u.

That's sad!

Hi Asina, Sister Olutosin is right ... we need to exhaust our efforts until every child and woman is safe in their own homes, from their own families and relatives, in the places where people around them should take care of them! This is really a tall order, but the likes of you who is right there can bring out the issue and raise your voice until the world hears, the way you do it here at WP - right now. Our sincere support and prayers... all the best ..

Truly it is very sad,

Truly it is very sad, extreamly sad.I will raise my voice until we see a change and have women and children enjoy their rights and freedoms to their fullest. Thank you for the sincere support and prayers.
My dear sister did you know that 99.9% gene of every human-being on earth is the same? i wish men could understand this, and any other perpetrator, we would not have issues of human rights violations.

We are one, sister!

Yes, Asina, so sad ... that the perpetrators are men ... fathers, brothers and sons of women! That's truly unfortunate that they can't seem to realize that all men have mothers!!!! We will get going, sister, if only to make humanity see that we are serious to change the world for good, inch by inch for now ... but definitely moving towards emancipation!

Dear Asina I was sad, but I

Dear Asina

I was sad, but I was really enjoying reading your post, it tauched my heart completely. I could feel now you feel about this because it also happened in my country. And the most shameful is fathers raped their own daughters, and it broken mothers' hearts.
