Hold my hand …we’re on our way

My dear mentor,

At the outset allow me to greet you with my warmest of welcome!

I am right here, eager to be with you. The moment I learned that you will be with me from now on until we’re done, I was filled with joy, pride and excitement. I passed great big hurdle to deserve you, and now there’s the two of us … together in this amazing journey towards empowering our lot, the womanhood of humanity.

For now there is not much I have to get going with my journey as a VOF 2010 correspondent, and, I guess, that’s why you’re here. There’s a great task waiting for all of us women of the world and we know we need each other and everything we have to pursue it. More than just a mentor, I need you as a friend, a guide, a sister, a partner. And I look up to you as the one who knows better, because you have been there where I’m going.

It is with a bit of awkwardness that I admit that what I’ve been into at PulseWire was my first time – to have opened my life to the world. Wearing my heart on my sleeve, showing my being, and defining my soul were things I never thought I could or would ever do in public … not until I got into this amazing community of real soul sisters.

With all that is yet to be done and is yet to unfold, thanks for taking the chance and the effort to stand by me. This awareness has granted me the faith that we will break through in good shape. May my acceptance and your guidance reinforce the hope and conviction that whatever our combined efforts will bring us, however this would impact to the pursuits and ideals of World Pulse, it would lead us a bit closer to the ideals of women empowerment, for the greater good of humanity.

Please hold my hand now and let’s get going …

Emie Zozobrado

Darling one!

I am so touched by this beautiful letter! And I am so thankful that I will be working with someone so courageous and beautiful in spirit.

Your words admitting your walking into vulnerability with regards to sharing your heart touched me to my core. It is not easy to open a heart for the world to see. But think how much more the world would be if more of us shared the love and laughter as well as the concerns and tears of our most private heart?

I am thrilled to be 'all of the above' with regards to being friend, guide, sister... partner... in your, correction - OUR - journey through this VOF project. I look forward to getting to know you and your heart and the magic of your mind through the words you put on a page.

Keep telling me what you want and desire and need and I will keep listening and encouraging and lifting you up in every way possible.

All my love,

Hi Ruth! Your name brings me back to the lines in the Bible between Ruth and Esther which goes like ... "Intreat me not to leave thee, or turn from following after thee ... for whither thou goest I will go; and wither thou lodgest I will lodge. Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God..." It speaks of a bond so strong and a faith so fierce! And that's exactly what we need, each and all of us women, at World Pulse and beyond.

Ruth, I haven't cried this much and this often for as long as I can remember! I have been shedding so much tears since I wrote my heart and my whole being out at PulseWire - for all of you guys to see through me ... online folks, some names I could not pronounce, sisters I haven't seen and may not even have a chance to meet in my whole lifetime! And yet I'm here, laying naked in front of you, baring my very soul without inhibitions or reluctance! Even before I got to be chosen for the VOF 2010, I felt like I've been winning all the time ... gaining so much support, encouragement and inspiration from so many friends and sisters all across the globe! It was so easy to be me among all of us and it feels so good, so great to be able to give in and to let go!

Ruth, I couldn't ask for more and I cannot thank you and World Pulse enough!

Whither thou goest....

Lovely Emie;

I had an Aunt Ruth who always thought I was named after her and my mother never disabused her of that notion, but always pulled me aside and told me that I was really named for the Ruth in the bible. She always loved that story of Ruth because it was a love story.... not between men, but a real love story of women honoring each other and being loyal and loving towards each other. Never before have I thought about how my name and my dream in this world has been so totally linked.

I am getting ready to dive into the World Pulse site in order to understand all its pages and places and opportunities. I am thrilled with this connection between you and me... keep pinching myself that it started before the official announcement.... and look forward to connecting with you even more closely through email, chat and hopefully phone calls.

I got your message about how best to connect and saw that FB is blocked at your office (smart employer! They wouldn't get nearly as much done if it were allowed!) I am fairly open to connect whenever and however best suits you. I live in the heartland of the US and am on Central Time. I have a Skype account, though I haven't used it yet and would be discovering my way through a first call. I do have your numbers and am unsure whether my cell phone supports international calls. I will check into that.

Emie, I am dedicating this morning to familiarizing myself not just with WP, but with you and everything you have written so far. I believe that you have access to some of the things I have read to give you some insight into my heart. I am looking forward to this adventure together and how we BOTH will grow!

Love always

Your faithful servant, Ruth

It's okey, Ruth!

Ruth, it happens all the time! I have committed so many blunders here at WP as I fumble about! I'm not as techy as a lot of people and most of the time I just feel so awkward about it!

Perfect for each other

Oh, Emie....

It seems we truly are kindred spirits! I love the network and all these amazing new ways of communicating, but am sometimes completely stumped by them. The remote control alone for our television is so complicated I rarely even turn it on! But I will persist through this World Pulse site because I am struck through and through with what it is accomplishing and the voices it is raising up.

And I am so completely thankful again and again for this opportunity to work together with you. I have been reading about the placed you have written and trying to ground myself in where you are in the world. I will write more to let you know more about me, as well.

Thank you for your beautiful and pure spirit. I love this rainbow we are tangled up in and know that the ride is going to be delightful. Anytime I can be tangled up with your kind of spirit who knows how to express herself as beautifully as you, I KNOW I am going to have a great time and learn a lot.

All my love and support..

Ruth, I truly believe we are delivered into each other by some unseen power. This is really meant to be - serendipity, so to speak. You became my friend at World Pulse and Facebook even before I was chosen as a VOF 2010 correspondent ... something I haven't been able to digest the miracle until now! I'm still savoring the joy! My God, Ruth - to be one of the 30 out of nearly 600 is a privilege beyond my expectations! Can you imagine how really really lucky I am!!! We were friends both ways even before you were named to be my mentor!!! Isn't that really amazing?!!!! Destiny works in mysterious ways, and sometimes, all you need to do is hold on fiercely to the faith and the conviction that life unfolds the way your heart loves it the most! This realization always takes me back to Paolo Coelho's "personal legend" in his book "The Alchemist."

By the way, Ruth, if I can find the chance, I will tag you on my albums/photos at Facebook - those which may give you a glimpse of what I've been writing about ... particularly my work in my homeland, with my people (the internally displaced families in my war-torn Mindanao) and my field researches in the remote rural areas, interviewing indigenous peoples/natives. And you will also see the beauty of my country on my side trips. I have posted over a thousand photos at FB and you might just drown among them before you find the pictures that matter most!!!

Thanks, Ruth ... for holding on and being there for me ...

Thanks a lot, Maria!

Hi Sister! What a pleasant coincidence! I was baptized Maria Emilia ... but because I have a very long surname, too much for the first line of the writing paper when I entered school, my Grade 1 teacher decided to drop the first name - Maria.

Really nice of you to drop a very inspiring comment! Thanks a lot! All these beautiful sisters at World Pulse, the awe-inspiring bonding in the community, are really drawing out my deepest sensitivities into expression! You see, it really seems so easy for me to write my whole being in here! Congratulations and all the best for us, Maria!

Best wishes to you in your future endeavors. It is never easy to get things done, but you have a great deal of experience and can achieve good things.

Emie Zozobrado's picture

Thanks a lot William!

My sincere gratitude for the encouragement, brother! Yes, sometimes challenges can grow bigger as we hurdle one after the other, but the experience can only make us stronger and better.... We have each other, here, brother ... and we are one! All the best...
