My Visions

Every human has some dreams in their lifewhich they want to complete and want to cultivate. As many other people I have some dreams that I want them to come true. From my childhood I really liked to do something very especial, but I was not able to figure out what that was, so I was jumping around and thinking what can be special and different. Until I joined Asian University for Women (AUW), I was really confused, but now I can see my dreams clearly, and now I am capable to understand my feeling that what I want to do. When I was in Afghanistan I did not know what was trying to stop me to see which kinds of problems do women have and never realized that there were things were needed to change so since I came to AUW I came to know that there are lots of problems that Afghan women face but no one tried to solve even though they can be solved easily. Now, that I am studying with girls from fourteen different countries, sometimes I really feel that Afghan women do not have freedom which is the main part of their life. So I want to change the current situation of Afghanistan in a situation where women will be allowed to do whatever they want to do or wish to do. In addition, I want to bring a change that shapes everyone’s life but still I do not know what that is. However, I do have some ideas in my mind which can support me to bring a kind of change. In every part of the world there are women who think that they cannot do anything or they think that they do not have the potentiality to do, which is not true, so I want to be an example for them and tell them that anyone can do whatever they wish to do but the only thing we need is self-confidence. Before, joining Asian University for Women I just learned English in one year so I have never talked in English but still I joined AUW because I felt like I should try and if I could not continue my studies there then I will go back to Afghanistan and think about another way to continue my education. But it has been two years that I am in AUW so my self-confidence helped me to shape my life because now I know I have somehow a clear concept about my future and career and I am sure that I will do something that will help my other generation. My other vision is to open one school and one hospital because I feel that in Afghanistan we have lack of these two important facilities so I will try my level bestto make my dream true. Also, I think in a country there are two things which are really important and those are schools and hospitals. School is important because it is education that makes a man, so if we have good or lots of school, then we can educate so many people and those people will make the situation of the country better. Another thing which is important is people’s health because a good and developed country needs good health so people will be healthy, then only we can have a good country, so for this reason I want to open up a hospital so that our county’s people have good health.

I have a little knowledge about empowering women; therefore, by joining 2010 voices of our future I want to learn more. After, becoming voice of our future, I may not be able to bring a sudden change, but still I can be a part of change. So by trying to bring a change in my community I want to satisfy myself and make myself understand if I can bring a change, I am a part of change, and then I may feel better.

A passionate Vision for Positive Change

By bringing a change in your community, by being a part of change, yes I love how you wrote this. It may indeed make you feel better to do this, helping others is sometimes the surest way to begin to help ourselves, however by being a part of change you may also be better situated to educate and empower others.
I feel this is just the beginning for you Fatima. Your passion and vision is very clear to me and I am interested to see where your journey here on Pulsewire may take you.
Education not only makes the man but also the woman! I hope to see your dreams for a school and hospital come true one day and may you continue your journey into empowerment for yourself and for the other women and girls in your community.
Blessings
Tina

Thank you

Fatima,

You are already part of the change! And I also agree with you, education and health are so important. I feel that they are the pillars of change. I also agree with your statements about self-confidence, they're very insightful. I look forward to hearing what you have to say in the future.

Thank you for sharing and inspiring!

Wishing you many Blessings,

Sarah
