Sharing Internet sources
When we open our Internet browser, we all have some websites we check instantly (besides Pulse Wire, of course !). I thought we could share some, cause many of them you only discover by friends and thus they are hard to find if you don't know where to look into.
Little precision : I'm just a user of these websites and am not contributing to any of them. Therefore, no hidden advertisement here !
These are mainly addressed to young European girls (cause that's my situation), but NOT exclusively :
This one is the one through which I discovered World Pulse (with MyStory contest). There are plenty of proposals for grants, scolarships, contests, trainings, conferences, jobs and internships. The training/conferences section is the most useful I think. Most of the events are held in Europe, but many of them are open to applications coming from other regions and some propose to refund travel fees. That's worth it, girls !
The website of a NGO that works at EU-level to enhance promotion of women's rights. You can find there position papers, the 2010-2015 Strategy for Equality between Women and Men...
On this linked website : http://ewlcentreonviolence.org/
You can find actions (for example signing petitions), reports from different countries, statements about UN or World Health Organization events... That's pretty interesting and there's always something to read ! And though women in Europe are lucky regarding the situation in other regions of the world, this website reminds us that "IN EUROPE TODAY, ONE IN FOUR WOMEN IS A VICTIM OF MALE VIOLENCE"...
Here it is for today, but I'll go on with my "adventure" on Internet. Don't hesitate to go on with the list. Hope this could constitute the beginning of a kind of database dedicated to Women's World Wide Web !
From France, with deep thanks for what you all write on this network, cause you're all really inspiring women.
