Facing Death

This is morbid topic to discuss. Facing death. . . afraid of dying. . . so morbid. However, some of us do not wish to talk about this even if we know that everyone go there, sooner or later.

But, if I meet the angel of death in the body of Brad Pitt just like the movie Meet Joe Black, this is a different story. However, it is not yet my time, so far. Herewith are some of my experiences that I almost meet the angel of death.

I have encountered several events in my life that I was supposed to be in the other world. For one, my parents told me when I was 5 years old at the burial of my grandmother from my father's side is that I fainted and I do not have any pulse. They say that my lola wanted to be with me in death. My relatives prayed so that I would come back into the living. Me and my lola have a remarkable resemblance.

When, I went to the States when I was 10 years old with my Mama, the plane of the Philippine Airlines almost crashed. First, it has some delays due to technical problems. Once we boarded the plane and a few hours in the air. The captain informed us that we have to go back in Manila, again for technical problems and thus, we waited again for much delay. Finally, they informed us that it is okay for us to go back board again and this time, almost at Hawaii with at least 12 hours of flight, the plane started to have that kind of turbulence. We all got scared that a Sto. Nino was passed around for prayer of safety. Anyway, we landed at Hawaii then, off to Los Angeles that our destination is San Francisco. Fortunately, the pilot has a skilled flying skills.

When I was 25 years old, I had a car accident. From an overtime at work. I drove on my way home. At the high way, this dumb truck is in front of me. I was driving from the right side of the road. Rain was pouring really hard at that time. Suddenly, in my left side, a mixer truck bumped me that my entire left side is wrecked. Presence of mind that I just steady the front wheel and a turtle spin after the mixer truck bumped me. Fortunately, there was an island that saved me from going to the other side of the road. I also had another car that I bumped along the way. The mixer truck did not even noticed me and it was a hit-and-run accident. But, my late father researched about the accident that he with his friends went to the mixer truck's company in informing about the accident.

About 5 years ago, I need to have a surgery. It was a matter of life and death situation. It went well at first but, there was a complication because I was not breathing at the moment. All the doctors panic. They discovered that some when wrong from my anesthesia. The physicians solved the problem and I was breathing again.

I have faced several times death. I am not afraid of it. I am only afraid that if I have to die shortly, my mission in life is not yet complete or I have wasted my time. I do not want to do so. There are plenty of things to do in this world in my own simple way. Besides, I still want to experience to be a wife and a mother.

We do not have to be afraid of death. The angel of death is just doing its job. The important thing to remember is that you lived. The joy of being alive is very fulfilling. You can experience life to the fullest by doing what is good and what is right. Nothing will happen to you in a bad way. But, if there is beyond your control, then, everything has a purpose in life. Have faith. . . God Bless.
