Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am currently living in Portland, Oregon with my partner and our three cats. I have been working on getting through college for seven years now and I hope that I will be finished in another year or so. My goal is to graduate with a degree in Women's Studies and I hope to use this degree to get a job in a non-profit and work to prevent violence against women. I love to read and write. I love talking to people, both known and unknown to me. I believe that we can use these tools of communication to build strong community.
My Passions:
Social justice, animal rights, fighting violence against women and children
My Challenges:
Knowing my limits; where is the line between fighting the fight and self care?
My Vision for the Future:
I hope to leave this world in a better state than it was when I entered it.
My Areas of Expertise:
Domestic violence, mental health (trauma/ PTSD specifically)
