The final stretch-- Week Four is up!

Warm Greetings to you all!

I can hardly believe it, but here we are at the near end of Week 3 of the VOF Application! It has been an incredible journey so far as we've explored the new frontiers of web 2.0 and citizen journalism. I have been truly amazed to see so many bold, brave women joining us from around the world. Thank you for being here, and sharing your voice with the community!

I have just posted the Week Four learning materials and assignment for you in the Classroom. You can find it at the link below:
http://www.worldpulse.com/voices-of-our-future-application-classroom/week4

This week's materials offer a glimpse into the Empowerment Methodology created by our partners at the Empowerment Institute. I'm sure you will find this to be an interesting and inspiring week of learning. For the Week 4 Assignment, we have given you a little bit longer word-limit (700 words) to share your personal vision with the world. You can find the specific details of the Assignment at this link: http://www.worldpulse.com/voices-of-our-future-application-classroom/week4/assignment

So, there you have it! I look forward to seeing your work this week, and hope you have fun with the last assignment. As always, feel free to send any questions to Rachael or myself... we are here for you.

Best wishes,
Scott

Hi Scott,

I really do thank you guys for instilling a sense of writing in me, i knew i had always had it but i just did not have the motivation enough to write, but now I wake up dailly writing and sharing my opinion in many things and places, the passion has exceeded my sharing from Worldpulse to many other places where i think my voice matters.

Journey :)

It indeed is a fascinating journey. It seemed quite challenging to prepare a write-up in a week despite being packed with the assignments of the courses. The name given "assignment" was tiring at first, but once I was determined to start this journey, I did not want to stop. I was so tempted to complete the 'assignment'. It has been very wonderful reflecting back at the past, analyzing the experiences, reading and learning from others articles. The more I write, the more I find things that I should write about.

I imagine attending the online classes as real classes. While I am reading the assigned write-ups, I feel some imaginary people are giving a lecture to me; I imagine somebody telling "this is your assignment" at the end of the lecture. Then I start writing keeping in the mind what I learn from that day lesson. After submitting the assignment, I imagine a group of people (listeners) sitting around a table, and reading my write-up, along with the imagination of what they are thinking, and how I am doing in the class. It has really been a motivating journey.

This journey has helped me know myself in many ways. For instance, when I get the comments, and when I write, I realize who I am, what qualities I have, and what I really want to do.

Thanks to Pulsewire! Thanks to Worldpulse!

Regards,
Deepti Bista

it's true...

...I feel like I was just warming up, getting the hang of it! The application process alone was a great motivator and inspiring to say the least.

I wish everyone great success and I'm envisioning love, fortitude, and steadfast tenacity for the 30 women chosen as they continue through this powerful experience!

Cheering us all on!

The Journey to pulse world

It seems like the end but yet a begining, a begining for the empowerment of over 500 2010 VOF applicants, a begining for the chosen 30 correspondents and yet another begining for the 4 that will attend the Institute.
Above all these is the begining of new network formed, a network of several women from different background , education and experience that are willing to learn and take back to their community the message of equality for all regardless of gender.
It has been a wonderful experience meeting and exchanging ideas with all of you.
