MY OPINION ABOUT WEB 2.0 AND ME

ABOUT WEB 2.0

I love web 2.0 because it is an initiative that is focused on human basically women empowerment. It gives hope and voice to people who must have given up on life and opportunities for some others to express themselves. It gives people the opportunity to think about what is within them that can be beneficial to others who are not as privileged as they are. It also helps to protect the rights of women. I also love WEB 2.0 because it creates a community where people can share and learn from each other thereby becoming better persons.

Web 2.0 SOLUTIONS

It gives women voice to express themselves and have a say, even proffering solutions to issues that directly affect them.
It allows for networking which is like an elevator for women to quickly achieve what they intend achieving.
It helps boost the self-esteem of women who had thought that nothing good could come out of them.
It helps reach out to women somewhere in the world suffering from one thing or the other by creating an awareness and giving information to people who could readily help.

ADVANTAGES OF WEB 2.0 TO ME!

It boosts my self-confidence and self-esteem and helps me to believe that something good can come out of my life.
It gives me a sense of responsibility towards people who have lesser privileges that I do so I could help them.
It connects me with people who have gone ahead of me, learnt some basic lessons and could help me with life.
It helps sharpen my skills, both writing and journalism.
It keeps me sharp and on my feet, it also enables me to live in the consciousness of what I know I have been designed by God to do, thereby making me focused.

Dear Opeoluwa, Please don't

Dear Opeoluwa,

Please don't worry! We are counting your assignment! :)

I really loved how you brought up the fact that Web 2.0 can help you learn ways to help people less fortunate than yourself, and how much you think it can boost self-esteem. I think that is one of the many challenges that almost all women face--feeling like we are worth listening too. I think your enthusiasm for Web 2.0 shows through very well. I'd love to know more about what you think you will do with Web 2.0 in your journey to empowerment, or how you might use it to help your community.

Kind regards,

Rachael

Your writing is very personal--nice!

Dear Opeoluwa,

I too liked how you mentioned that Web 2.0 is a great tool, not only for connecting with other people less fortunate than you but also as a means to connect with people/women who have gone down some of the same paths/battles before you. What a nice metaphor, that you are a bridge between the two.

You have a great use of verbs and other expressions, very descriptive, Opeoluwa! ;) for example: boost, an elevator, reach out, sharpen, proffering... you have a wonderful vocabulary!

Keep up the super writing.

Assignment 1

Opeoluwa,

I am new to this process as well, AND I was late even though I have the priviledge of easy access to technology. You have helped me be grateful for this priviledge and not to take my priviledges lightly. I am looking forward to learning more, hearing more stories and helping in the thinking process of problem solving for you and other women. You were very clear in your answers to the assignment.

Thank you,

Susan Hoffman
