It is truly sad that we are

It is truly sad that we are so quick to label and judge without knowing the individual. We follow the shallow guidelines of what makes a person bad-stealing, lying, disrespect, causing us to be blinded and ready to point our fingers but not think when needed. I work for an agency called Outside In here in Portland and I would love you to have a look at it. The non profit deals with at risk youth and focuses at the route of the problem. I am truly honored to work for them.

With support and hope,
Carri Pence

It is a shame indeed. In

It is a shame indeed.

In terms of your organization, I googled it but returned no results for "outside in here" portland. I suspect either you do not have a web page, or that it may not be properly search engine optimize.d In either case - any chance you'd provide a link or other resource?

Thanks for the comment!

Loved the website, or rather,

Loved the website, or rather, the work you do. The stories on the right are particularly endearing and show the impact of your work. I wonder what would happen, however, if instead of just providing a third-person sort of marketing voice discussing these individuals you worked with them to add their own voices to this section?

This could be done in a number of ways, though I would strongly recommend looking into the Centre for Digital Storytelling and watching some of the first-person videos that they have on their website, http://www.storycenter.org

Keep up the great work!

Eh my friend, welldone

I do not know what to write, I have seen injustice done to the powerless and the defenseless, it has kept me down for so long and I believe so also is others, when you know no one in power, you are treated like a pack of excreta in Nigeria, pardon my word, I do not know which better word to substitute.

Accidentally this happens to the defenseless ones who are not in position of power, I was discussing with my little girl today about Samuel Doe in Liberia, she was asking me why a man named David Anyaele has no arms and I said it was cut off by Samuel Doe of Liberia and told her how he murdered several defenseless women and children and even killed 2 Nigerian journalists, Tony Imodiebe and his colleague.....during th eLiberian warshe looked at me and said...she is just 5 years old.

She said , i believe it is wickedness done to women and children that made GOD to live in Heaven and not among men...I shivered smiled but on a second thought I smiled again and said, God lives in us too.
Just today...

Her words still rings in my mind...is it the wickedness of men that made GOD stayed away from men?
God created women and men....Men created rich women, poor women, rich men and poor men...just to be in control....who to keep in custody or who to be free.....

Injustice is everywhere

... which is why it is important that we share our stories and others.

It is hard to understand violence and injustice, no? The fact is, though I have not believed in god for a long time it is a story like the one you have shared that makes me question my own judgement on the matter. Perhaps it is not that God does not exist, but as you say, that the wickedness of men that has made god go away.

Maybe it is our lot to work to create the kingdom of heaven on earth - to create a space for real peace and justice for all to return.

Thank you for your support, and thank you for sharing that story. I'd love to learn more about your organization!
